Online Medical Certificate

Australian Doctors delivering, fast medical certificates for work, school, carers leave, flights and events.

Medical certificates can be provided for any appropriately relevant medical condition, attendance at a medical appointment, such as a clinic, or for a carer’s leave.

While legally, medical certificates cannot be backdated, at My Med Cert, we understand that often you can’t get to a clinic to see your GP when you are sick. We can retrospectively issue you a certificate for the period you were ill. If deemed appropriate, the doctor can date the certificate on the day of the consultation and list the dates you were unwell on the certificate. Many services don’t offer this, and some who do will only retrospect a day or so. Be aware, however, that your consulting doctor may request some evidence, such as a photo or document, for our records.

How to get your Medical Certificate

Some services provide one-day medical certificates without the doctor contacting you. Unless you have had a previous face-to-face or telehealth consultation with the doctor issuing the medical certificate, it may very well be an invalid medical certificate, potentially rendering it void and exposing you to issues at work. My Med Cert requires patients to have formal telehealth to establish doctor-patient relationships and provide a valid, legal medical certificate.

Sometimes, patients request medical certificates based on the time of their roster (as is often the case for FIFO workers). However, the doctor has to be able to justify the period on the certificate clinically, and a patient’s work roster alone does not qualify as clinical justification.
